Today, I am going to help you! Kids cry or laugh because they feel like they know that character. They feel like that character is a friend or maybe even an enemy. When you read deep the book makes you feel. This is not easy work. You have to practice the strategies and try them out for lots of day. You are going to pick one and really dig in.
Here's how:
1. Check out the anchor chart for the strategy
2. Watch our videos. Maybe watch it two or three times. See if you REALLY understand what you are going to do when you read by yourself.
3. Read ALOT by yourself. Stop every now and then and think about your strategy. Try it out. It would be fun for you to talk to someone about it too. Readers talk and grow together. Chat with your family or friends or us, your teachers!
Get ready! Let's get to know our characters! Are you ready? Got your GRIT? This is work but we are going to do it together.
